We had a projector, an infrared camera, fiducials and our laptops, so we decided to create an interactive music visualizer, inspired in a record-player.

Ever wanted to interact with music in a different, more creative way?

Ever wanted to interact with music in a different, more creative way?

As it turns out, you can. We explored the idea of deeply conecting with music. You know... That feeling of being “in the zone”, where you get transported. As musicians, both of us have come across it, and decided to take it a step further by building a visualizer that could let you record, deconstruct, and tinker with your tracks.

Have you ever seen these strange figures?

They’re called fiducials (white), and the Processing libraries we used are trained to recognize a variety of them to track rotation, position and depth.

We used the fiducials in the back of 3 miniature vinyl records and gave each one a unique interaction for you to literally “put on the record-player” and enjoy.
